This NYC Pad Takes Pantone’s Crush-Worthy Coral to New Heights

When Pantone announced that Living Coral was its 2019 color of the year, reactions were mixed. (After all, it's not exactly the most intuitive color for incorporating into your existing decor.) But Homepolish Designer Ashlie Broderic knew just how to handle the polarizing hue: with an unexpected ombre effect. The crown jewel of this East Village duplex has to be the bedroom walls, which almost seem to be blushing in the tone. And with such an artful balance of masculine and feminine elements throughout the space, this space is sure to win over Living Coral doubters.

Daily Harvest has been a saving grace for the veggie and fruit averse.  Backed by big-name wellness pros like Serena Williams and Gwyneth  Paltrow, the plant-based food subscription service has made a name for  itself with produce-packed  farm-to-frozen soups and smoothie bowls. The startup’s nutritious motto and Insta-worthy aesthetic served as the primary inspiration for Homepolish designer Ashlie Broderic, who was tasked with redesigning the brand’s new office in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.

Ashlie Broderic, interior designer for Broderic Design, tells CNBC Make It, “Ikea’s aesthetic is pared down and minimal, which is not an accident. Uncomplicated forms with very little applied decoration are easier to manufacture. More can be produced in a shorter amount of time, increasing efficiency and decreasing production costs. The Malm bed is an excellent example of simple rectangular shapes combined to create a very chic bed.”
